Our solutions

Viscoelastic gel

Inborn’s Nanoparticle-Based Gel (NBG) for minimally invasive delivery is a paste-like gel assembled from hydroxyapatite and gelatin nanoparticles designed to effectively combat bone infections.

Our gel can be applied directly to the infection site to minimize undesired systemic side effects and enable controlled delivery of multiple antibacterial agents.

Intracellular delivery

Treating bone infections with common antibiotics is challenging, since pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus can reside inside cells like macrophages which are often inaccessible to antibiotics.

We have tested the intracellular bactericidal efficacy using a validated coculture model of human THP-1 derived macrophages and phagocytosed S. aureus bacteria.

Note: The animation illustrates how our innovative Nanoparticle-Based Gels (NBG), composed of gelatin nanoparticles (red) and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (light blue), effectively kill both extracellular and intracellular bacteria (depicted in purple). As bacteria-infected cells migrate through the gel, the nanoparticles are internalized by the cells, triggering the release of antibacterial drugs (represented as red mini-spheres) or antibacterial ions, which efficiently eliminate the bacteria.
